Seamless
by design

Smooth is the transition you use when you do not want anyone to notice the transition. One scene dissolves into the next, with the AI holding the subject in place while everything around them changes — light, background, wardrobe, weather.

Most editing apps do this with a crossfade, which is why most of them look cheap: a crossfade is two images fading through each other, so for half a second you see both and neither. Smooth generates the frames in between instead. The subject stays solid the whole way through, which is what makes the change read as one continuous shot rather than two clips glued together.

It is the right default for anything where the story carries the clip — a before and after, a location change, a time-of-day shift. Save the louder effects for when the change itself is the point.
